Well this is my first report and it will be a short one. Dr. Krol, Capt. Mike and Ptet the Greek , left GYB fri. morning and ran straight to the HI bloc 197. found lots of fish home but word must havee be out because all the quality fish left before we arrived. We trolled and dropped baits and seems like everything we caught was so close to legal or maybe just a little over but we still left them all there to continue to grow.

We didn't run to far because we were on 21 ft Whaler with single 200 so rather than risk any unseen issues we stayed within our original plan.

All total we probably caught 20 / 25 kingfish and about 20 or snapper. First time I've ever seen free jumping king fish. There was so much bait around one of the platforms ( HI 199 I think ) king fish were free jumping . That was really cool. The water was absolutely as blue as you could imagine and clear enough to watch your bait just slowly disappear. Just beautiful.

Also, " Note to self put camera in tackle box not on cabinet in kitchen. "

All in all we caught a bunch of fish and enjoyed being on the water. Great time with good friends , plenty to eat, a few adult beverages, and smooth, smooth water heading in. Not much for the table but a great time anyway.

All the best.

We got back to the dock about 3:30 and TPWD was doing a survey of your catch and buddy, buddy am I galcd we were not tempted to bring in a close in length catch of anything...I'll just have Luby's fish until I get another chance to go.

All the best.
