Fished 7-8-06 sat. morning from 6-9 a.m. at the rock jetty off the seawall and 15th street. I met up with a school buddy of mine and his dad that never fished saltwater before. The water was clear and flat, but had lots of seaweed. I managed to catch 4 trout (2 keeper 17 and 18in), 1 smack, 1 sheephead, 2 rat red, and 6 whitings. The whitings were caught on dead shimp. The red and the sheephead was caught free lining and the trout was caught under a cork. My buddy manage a few undersize trout and his dad none. My buddy decided to rig his dad's pole to fished the bottom and he at least caught 20 whiting which he gladly gave away to other fishermen on the rock jetty. I gave my trout to my buddy and his dad. I ate the smack for lunch and gave the sheephead to my aunt. Great morning.
