In the old days we would go from galveston to bolivar on the ferry and take 124 & I10 back or sometimes take the back FM through the rice fields just to see the waterfowl in the fall, in the spring to pick berries along the fences.
I need to drive that old route to see the changes.

It’s pretty much the same. That’s where folks go if they want to slip off the radar.

I was sitting in the wait line, and as Ferry. after Ferry, arrived, sometimes it seemed like my line of cars, never moved! Cars, trucks, and even trucks with boats, and trailers, w/med passes, zooming by...ridiculous!!!

Just go the other way if you really want to go over there. It is not that much different in the amount of time it takes.

It's really been getting a little too crowded over there lately. You could always opt for another beach.

Long ago, I cut way back on my trips to Bolivar for this very reason and I think that was before there were many Medical passes. Back then, we would cross the ferry from Galveston at 4:30-5:30 am and there were not any long lines at that time of the morning back then. For getting back to Houston, unless we just had to get back to Galveston for some reason, we'd just go back 87 to 124 thru Winnie, or even go by the Anahuac NWR for a late afternoon or evening wade.

Everyone should burn themselves a med pass or see the quack over there that writes them for anything. Then we will be back at square one..... get in line and wait your **** turn.
I'm thinking seriously about geting a Handicapped Placard for parking up close at Wally World too. I'm tired of that extra walk. I see people all the time hop skip and jump from their vehicle that parked in Handi Cap parking.
I'm kidding about gonna get me handicap plackard. But no different than OP's talking about.

I have lived on Bolivar for 20 years. Rode the ferry a lot during that time too. Ferry wait times aren't any different now than they were 20 years ago. MBP's haven't changed them at all. People were complaining about the wait times same as they are now. Only difference is they have the MBP's to complain about. Business owners on Bolivar are well aware of the wait times on the ferry, but that doesn't seem to slow people down from coming to Bolivar.
