Is there any thing open near or around Friendswood? I am in Lubbock, my wife and kids are in Hunt and my Mom is in Kerrville. I also have 5 evacuees from Galveston at my house in Friendswood. One of them is 83 years old another one is 90 years old. I am very worried about them having to be in the heat and I'm not sure how much food and water they have. Are there any shelters open around Friendswood where they could cool down or get some supplies. Does anyone know of anything open where they could get out of the heat or pick up some supplies? It's VERY frustrating to be so far away from my friends and family right now. Everyone is alive but I feel very helpless.

I just talked to a friend in the reserve. He said they are working on setting up about 24 distribution points around the Houston area for water etc. He could not let us know where they are yet. He also received word that a few walmarts will be opening soon. He said to monitor transtar for more info. on distribution sites. I know how ya feel. All my family and friends are sitting in Friendswood, League City, Dickinson, Pasadena. It's frustrating not being able to help them. Some are running short on supplies. And they say the mosquitoes are getting bad. I just made it back to Dallas from Mexico and now they have cancelled our flight until 4:45 tomorrow and thats not guaranteed. Thinking about renting a Uhaul and loading up with supplies and heading down.

Thanks for the info. If I could leave I would rent a uhaul and bring supplies down. If I can get out of here that's exactly what I'm going to do.

My sister drove from Manvel and was able to buy some food and water at the H.E.B in Friendswood at 518 and 528.
