In the past I put my cut up deer meat in baggies, then wrap with freezer paper. This works great. I was just wondering if it would keep as good if I put it in freezer containers with the snap-on lids. If so , should I top it off with water to keep the air out?

Also , do any of yall use one of those meat tenderizers with the blades you push into the meat?

Any other processing tips appreciated!!!

Yessir....if you vacuum pack all meats, they will last you at least three years! You can even fix whole meals and pack them....:doowapsta

Huge fan of foodsaver system. We made 60 #'s of italian sausage a couple of weeks ago and vacuum sealed it all. Will keep for two years with no loss of quality. I was cleaning out the freezer and found a red on the half shell from 9 months ago. Cooked it on the grill and was great for fish tacos. Worth every penny. Kind of a pain, but you can wash, rinse, and reuse the bags to save some $$'s.

Take care,
