i am offshore fishing out of freeport for the first time this weekend, any recomendations ? katfish

Are you going out on a private boat, party boat, or charter? If your own boat check bouyweather.com click virtual buoy and then America North and then the bouy's around lake jackson. The most important thing is the seas.

Tall1fin, go to the NDBC site, pick your buoys of choice and bookmark them. One stop shopping.

I prefer Virtual Buoys for predicting the seas looking forward. Its not fool proof but right more than wrong. NDBC is good for real time.

FYI, the seas are predicted to be a little bumpy on Sat. 3-4 ft and 2-3 ft on Sun.
