I'm from the east coast site (noreast). Here's a video shot last week of jigging flounder on a bucktail and teaser combo with Berkley Gulp 4-inch swimming mullets in Long Island Sound. The Tsunami glass minnow teaser was particularly effective, although I usually just use a bare hook with a gulp grub for the teaser.

Hey, John. I love your videos and watched all of them. Alas, for me here in Galveston they were completely useless :). Well, maybe with exception of that underwater footage -- it really gave me understanding of what's going on when I go after flounder.
Anyways, for some reason jigging a bucktail does not work for me here -- maximum what I got here is gulp that was bitten off. I guess our flounders are just too small (size limit is 14") and at the end I lost most of my bucktails on snags.

You obviously have few spots that produce a lot of flounder for you -- can you give an advice on how to locate such spots? For jigging while drifting...

I've watched all of your videos over a year ago. And I have to say that they are great videos, but fishing here in the Gulf or more specifically Texas isn't anything like you videos. You typically fish deep holes and depending on the current can fish weights up to 16 Oz which is never done here. We are max'd out at 1 or so Oz.

And we don't really have deep holes but slight ledges that usually can differ 3 foot usually at the most.

But they are cool videos

Glad you enjoy the videos, even if they don't help as much as I hoped. The deep fishing you refer to are the striper videos on my channel, which I don't post here. The flounder vids are all in 4-23 feet of water with 3/4- to 1-ounce jigs. The south shore bay areas that I fish from kayak and shore are generally only 4- to 8-feet. This vid was in LI sound, on a the slope of a 10-17-ft drop.

Very nice video, but i don't have a boat and i am fishing just from the bank.Anyway i can say i was catching a lot of flounder at ROLLOVER PASS(http://texascoastgeology.com/passes/rollover.html )fishing just with artificial on GAMAKATSU crappie 1/16 oz.,1/8 oz.jigs, hook size 2 with GULP MINNOW GRUB 2" pearl, chartreuse, red and sometime with GULP MINNOW GRUB 3",pearl,chartreuse ,red, pink ,black.I am fishing just at ROLLOVER PASS for the last 10 years because i am disable(problems with my legs) and i am fishing just sitting on my "IGLOO" cooler.

I am fishing with long spinning rods(over 10') many built by me on fly blank 9' W 10 +extension or changing some SAGE RPLX and G.LOOMIS IMX,W10,W11,W12 change by me in spinning rods and with FIRELINE SMOKE 4 lb.,TASLINE ALL WITHE 10 lb.,SPIDERWIRE ULTRACAST 10 lb. green+14 lb. fluorocarbon leader.

I am sure the fisherman's witch have a boat,or kayak can use your method to catch flounder and here in Gulf of Mexico and GALVESTON BAY etc.
