The pictures from Brew Jr. and TexasDux inspired me yesterday so I loaded my daughter up about 5:30 and headed down to Matagorda to potlick the dock lights on the channel. Got there areoun 7:30 and after hunting down some bait we decided the river was still too off color so we ran East down the ICW for a little ways and found a likely spot. Got anchored up and started fishing around 9:15 or so and fished until 11. Savannah caught her best yet trout at about 22" or so and another nice keeper around 20". I caught a couple of keepers between 17' - 19" and we caught about 6 or 8 dinks and rat reds.

What a great time we had!

2Cool! Looks like we have our next generation FishinChicks rounding out quite nicely! Looks like we have a team in the making. WTG young lady! WTG Dad! The times with my dad out on the water are some of the most precious memories I have of my childhood.

Sounds like some great father/daughter time and that 22" fish was a nice bonus on the trip. I love the rubber gloves. Reminds me of my middle girl. She loved to fish when she was about that age, but I had to do all the baiting and unhooking.

Yeah, Dux. We need to get those kids together at some point for some fishing or something. I'm sure they'd all have fun.

Jim, I got her to hold the fish last night for a picture at the dock but they didn't come out so good. She said they were too slimey so I gave her the gloves instead of arguing. Besides, she's right, trout are REALLY slimey when they've been on ice for a while.
