I went fishing at one of my late run spots in the Galveston ship channel. I was using the same flounder pounder from last time. The strawberry/white curly tail. 1/4oz. I was basically crawling it across the bottom. I would give it a slight twitch every few feet. The fish hit agressive when I fished like that. I tried to speed the retrieve up but all I would get was the soft strikes. They would tap it and move it but spit it as I was getting ready to set the hook. Moving it slow is the key right now. The big girl measured in at 23 inches and the second biggest was 20 and the others rounded out in the 18 inch range.
