My insurance adjuster told me today that you may be eligible for a FEMA payment if you were without electric power for 5+ days.
NOTE: I do NOT want to get into a discussion of whether people who apply for government assistance are the next best thing to horse theives. But there are plenty of people on the board who are hurting that I thought I'd pass it along.
Personally, I figure you might as well get SOMETHING before Henry Paulson gives it all away to the rich, fat bankers on Wall Street, or Nancy Pelosi gives it to the people who took out mortgages they knew d### full and well they couldn't afford, but YMMV. If you don't want the money, apply and donate it to the Red Cross.
