Havent been there in a few years, but plan on taking my travel trailer, and spending a few days near the end of the dike. Will fish the plant side of the channel with surf rods and mullet. What is the chance of some sharks, Jacks, etc, if the water is nice?

Any suggestions of where to fish, -- Half way down, close to the end, or at the end near the pier.?

Thanks

Not shure about the dike. But, the beach front is hot for trout, shark, whiting, and alot more right now. You might want to shift your plans a little!

fished the dike moday and had a big 4-5 ft shark come within 20 feet of us while wading! caught one 21" trout on live shrimp. My buddy fished off the rocks, at the end on monday afternoon. threw different artificials. he caught one keeper trout, one keeper red, and a bunch of small fish. he also caught a spanish mackeral about 2.5 ft.

wow,, I should pat more attention to the TV or weather. I think If anywhere the dike may be best now with the wind and rain. Yuck, My plans are out the window. South wind 15 to 20 and 50% rain thru monday.

I think most of the big fish are caught on the right corner at the end. If you have lights there may be some trout back a little further on the same side.

CAUTION!!! I broke my hip on those very slick rocks last year in May. I stepped on top of the rocks and slipped and nearly went into the water with only one fishing party about 50 yards away with a generator running. You can't be too careful around the rocks. Good fishing.
