Well I took my wife and 2 daughters to east bay and had a pretty fun day on the water. I was not able to fish a whole lot, due to an inguinal hernia surgery last week; so I was the deck-hand for my 7yr old and 11yr old. I bought shrimp so the girls would have a good time no matter what they caught. We arrived at the spot about 6:45a.m. and I noticed nervous mullet everywhere. The first few minutes my wife is hooked up with a 22" trout on a margarita sand eel jr. and my daughters were also hooked up on smaller trout with shrimp. Already they are having fun, so the casting commenced. They caught fish all day, but could not find a lot of keepers. Both of my girls did hook up on two good size gaftops (on sand eels under a popping cork because they ran out of shrimp) One gaftop went 4lb and the other was weighed at 3lb 15 oz. You should have seen there faces. I moved to the grassline to find some redfish. I was casting a gold spoon for them; letting them work it back to the boat. They loved throwing artificial after catching about 15 reds, all between 18-19.1/2 inches (no keepers) They finished the day with 35 trout(7keepers) 15 gaftop to 4lbs(biggest two went home for a picture) and 15 reds on artificial. One of the most enjoyable trips I had and did not even get to fish. Thanks for reading Tommy.

These are the reports that I really enjoy. Hearing that the family and young'uns are getting involved is great. Super congrats on the enjoyment and success. Hope you took some pictures as those memories are golden. Are y'all entered in the Star tourney. Those gafftops grow a little and here is a fine scholarship available for the kids.
Keep them reports coming.

Ditto.

Great job, Tommy. It's days like that kids will always remember. One day, they'll be telling their grandkids about "the good ole days"! :)
