well--- i gave it a shot-- and want ur opinion--will these catch fish or am i waisting my time-- or are there some changes i should make--how fast do i pullum-- and how far behing the boat--i just could not spend a bunch of money on trollin lures --so i thought i would try and make um-- if i can do it++ anybody can do it--tell me if u think they will work---give me some sugestions fer design cuz im runnin out of ideas:work: ps i was reading fer kings --steel leaders and for mahi mono leaders --what test on both do i need and what colors work best for kings and what colors work best fer mahi--oh and by the way if u want these fish i catch just pickum up at the beach house with the american flag flying on the beach --closest to the north jettie between the 21st and the 25th of this month crystal beach bolivar--pm me if u want them --cuz if u dont-- i take pics and throw um back --i like cheeseburgers--lol

on the way down to the coast i was gonna stop at ftu for the first time and get some skirts cuz up here in east texas u can not get any good salt water stuff--and yes i have been to madigras but my daughter liked the pretty colors--and i thought shiny would attract--is this the wrong direction to go

Try to make thier color resemble a bait fish your targeted fish is eating at the time.

u can find the tape at Michaels, here in Houston. Hobby lobby, probably has some as well. The lures look great, but would go w/vinyl skirts instead. They will last longer, & conceal the hooks better. Fine job on the heads Haparks!

yep, just change the skirts...the feathers once wet will not be seen much becuse they will be so small......

thanks i apreciate that what saticefaction it will be to catch a fish on a lure i made not bought--and i went to Michaels but they do not have a section of tape but a fellow 2cooler have set me in the right direction for holigaphic tape of all kinds it would boggel the mind--as fer rubber skirtz i gonna get some when i go to ftu cuz in east texas u can not get salt water stuff

YOur lures look fine

Sounds like you will be fishing for kings, and to be honest, they aren't that picky. Sometimes you could pull a clump of sargassum (weeds) on a bare hook and catch those slimy monsters.

The first king fish I ever caught was on duct tape and hooks so you are far ahead of the curve.
