I found out on 9/30/08 that I was eligible for a displacement fund for an uninhabitable residence through our Texas windstorm insurance. As long as you have Texas windstorm insurance you can call and let them know the dates your home was uninhabitable and they will ask you a few questions. They cut David and I a check for $2000. We still have not spoke to our adjuster but they gave us her name and number. The home has to be your Primary residence. we still are unable to go home. So she said this should at least pay for some expenses that we have already incurred. She also told me to keep all recipts of food and any other expenses that is not our normal daily routine. Also they are going to ask for you to make a list of all Items lost in Refridgerator and freezer. This is the # I called 800-788-8247.

If you have a 310 or 320 endorsement and it is your Primary residence an uninhabitable due to a windstorm claim, Additional Living Expense is covered with TWIA.

Just called, They are sending out a check for $1000.00 for unihabitable residence. If you have the 302 endorcement on your policy they will send out $2000.00. It does need to be your primary residence.

I called and they didn't even have a record of my claim that was filed a week ago. Then found out my agent had put the wrong policy number on the claim she filed. Got that straight then asked about the displacement funds. After the 4 th person I talked to they said that nothing would be sent till the adjuster saw the house. Now that could be a week to 2 weeks according to them.

we got our check yesterday. if you have a 320 endorcement call them back. we have not seen the adjuster yet.

I will call back today and see if I have a claim number yet. While I wait FEMA is paying me $702 a month for rent.
