I want to get a digital SLR camera. What do you guys recommend as far as models go for around $500. I just want a good entry level camera that will take good photos while I am on the water.
Here's another great website with unbiased reviews of various cameras: www.stevesdigicams.com
For that money, I'd be looking at one of the Canon Rebels. That would be my choice because the camera is only half the picture, the available lenses being the other half. Canon has the best choice of reasonably priced high performing lenses for their cameras. I would argue that the lens is more important than the camera with a DLSR when it comes to getting the results you want.
