Hello All,

I'm in the market for BOTH a Digital Camera and a Digital Video Recorder. I don't want the latest and greatest technology. I'm looking for something that was the "latest and greatest" a year or two ago at a decent price.

Is there anyone who can give me your fedback on either of these types of cameras? I'm looking for cameras that are user friendly, videos easily downloaded, etc...

I'm not interested in the flip camera due to my wife not wanting one, and if mama's not happy, no one's happy!!!

Also, any suggestions on the place of purchase would be great!!!

Thanks in advance for your feedback!!!

If you want great pictures with 1080 video, look at the Canon 60D or the 7D or if you don't want to spend that kind of cash then look at the Rebel T1i EF-S or T2i EF-S..

I guess it depends on your budget.

Sorry, I didn't mention budget in my OP... I was thinking somewhere in the area of $200 - $300 on the camera and $300 - $500 om the video camera.

Thease cameras will be used for your normal useage....nothing too fancy just something that takes good pictures/videos and is easy to use!!!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!!

I have a Sony Cyber shot for my digital camera, its 14 megapixels, has a 10x optical zoom, and takes panoramic photos.

I also have a Panasonic Video camera that works great. It has a 70GB hard drive so you don't need to have extra memory cards, it takes HD video, 70x optical zoom and its very easy to use. This one below is pretty similar, they've just upgraded somethings since I bought mine.

I would look at the Rebel series with your combined price range. You can get a decent Digital Camera/Video Camera that will fit your needs. The T2i would be the one I would get.

Great 1080HD video and 18 MP camera. Just get a 32 or 64GB CF Card and you will be good to go.

As far as place to purchase B&H Photo (online) is a great source or if you make it to Houston often then Houston Camera Exchange.
