In all of my many years of watching baseball, I have never ever, not even once seen 2 major league baseball teams out on the field shaking hands, hugging, and generally acting like they were friends after a game. Football is the only sport that does this, maybe hockey but i cant remember. I have always wondered why this was never done. Any thoughts?

Its a tradition in hockey

In the Stanley Cup playoffs they line up to shake hands at the end of each series. Usually, you can see the respect, friendship and admiriation they have for each other and I've always thought is was a great tradition. They have competed like mortal enemies for up to 7 games and yet can show respect for each other once its over. Nice to see it possibly bleeding over into baseball.
