Hello from Shreveport, LA. Does anyone have any word on damage or flooding in Dickinson? All we are getting is information about Houston and Galveston.
Also, had an unconfirmed report of the new Causeway had a buckle. Anyone else heard anything about that?
Thanks for the help and I hope those who stayed are ok.

I am in Tyler now, but live in Dickinson. We left Thursday a.m. before the mass exodus from the coast. Just heard from my neighbor that stayed- said our house is just missing a few shingles and the fence was blown over. We are very lucky!! My neighbors also stated that most of Dickinson was wind damage ranging from mild to severe and no flooding. Hope this helps you, I know it doesn't substitute for actually knowing what happened to your place. Hope it faired very well. Stay safe!

Just talked to my folks, who are in Bayou Chantilly (about 10 houses from the bayou). They dont have any electricity. They are running generators and a window AC unit and are doing good. Water is running, but its not drinkable unless you boil it. They just had some high winds. No structural damage or flooding.

I think flooding in Dickinson depends on where you live. If you are on the bayou then you might have gotten some flooding. I live on Bayou Cir. and my neighbor said that only about 4 houses on our street did not get water in them. I hope everything is good at your house.

We were planning on returning to Dickinson today but according to the statement posted on the Galv. County Emerg. Management site;

"Do not return to the City of Dickinson per Mayor Masters. There are no utilities. "

That was posted about 2:00am last night.

If anyone can shed some light on the utility situation, water, gas, electric would be helpful.

Hey Halo1, I know I didn't state this earlier but I live on the Bay Colony side of Dickinson- around 646 an 517. Check out my previous post for the info that I have received. Sounds like Dickinson got lucky.

I live in St Edmunds green right off 646. We have water with medium water pressure, sewage is still working ok. The front part of the subdivision, close to 646 has power, but we still don't in the back part.
Drove around yesterday, saw alot of fallen trees along Deats Rd. Many houses in that area were damaged by the trees, as well as power lines being knocked down. The houses along the bayou seemed to have water in them from what I could see from the freeway. This rain we're getting today is not going to help things.
Didn't check any other parts of Dickinson, but went to Texas City, and the Dike is gone! The road is still under water, and all of the structures on the bayside of the Levee have been washed away, except for the old Dollar Point Marina. The building is still there but he pier is gone. I have pics but can't load them right now, will post later.

Thank you Brio. I just got off the phone with my next door neighbor in Bay Colony, and he said there was no flooding, plenty of shingles blown off, no broken windows, most older fences toppled.

He also said that the Walmart, Target, and Home Depot on the corner of 646 and 45S, as well as Tuscan Lakes had power.

thanks Hal, hope the electricity in our area gets turned back on soon. Hopefully it won't be long if that side of I-45 has it... My neighbor is supposed to be going into our subdivision to check today if it comes back on. I will keep you posted when/if I hear from him.

West side of Dickinson

My neighbor got in about 11 am this morning. He said that the Bayou Crest subdivision looks ok. He did a walk around my house and said other than limbs no damage. Fence is leaning a little but that ain't bad.
He lives further down the steet on the bayou and he didn't get any water except in his backyard.
No electricity and water is on a boil before drinking basis. He said the north side of 517 looked better than the south side.
So if you are in Bay Colony, Dove Meadows and nearby should be ok. He said he didn't see any roof damage.
He just did a quick look see so maybe things will be ok on the west side.
stay safe.
