Rowdy,

I have the 1985 cuddy.. it has the closed transom with a bracket on the back. the main reason I bought it is because of the cockpit space. It has more fishing room than some 35ft sportfishers I have fished on. I do like the shade the hardtop provides. It has a pretty nice ride. It runs best in a quartering sea. it is wet at times, but what boat isnt.? I kind of wish that I had the new hull design, but for the money I have in it, I am very happy with the boat.. Being the 4th owner, I had to rip out the gas tanks and repair and reglass some things but after firming that up abit, its a very solid ride.. Now if they can get my port motor back together, I might get to use it before the new year. (Broke a crankshaft last time I was out)

Adios,
Bret

Dang Glen, you kill half the marlin in the gulf now you're starting on the tuna!!! I'm sure glad you were able to release that poor little ole tuna after beating it in the head with a club to get it's picture.LOL

After watching that Tuna work Glenn over for 39 min. I believe I'll
stick to trying to kill all the marlin in the gulf, (only kidding). That
fight was a sight to see let me tell you. He had a very large shark
trailing him when we first saw color but he lost intrest right at the boat.
One hell of a fish. Later Baker

I can't believe you killed that magnificent specimen! What kind of a low life, potlickin', loser fisherman are you? Don't you know the proper release technique is to leader that fish alongside the boat while travelling backwards at 15 knots?
 :D

Seriously, really NICE fish. I'm going on my first tuna trip this weekend on McGolfer's boat and can't wait to hook into one of those bad boys!

Here's another dead tuna

Nice fish! 39 min? I had to fight this bruiser for over 2 hrs! He weighed 121 at the dock. I caught it on a 50lb AllStar rod, Okuma T20 & 50 lb big game. Not exactly tuna tackle but I got him anyway. Only fish that I can say ever hurt me as I didn't have a fighting belt until the last 30 min. I was sore for a week. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I've never caught a huge AJ (20lb is my best) but I can't imagine they would pull any harder than this beast did. For anyone who has never caught one I highly recommend you do whatever it takes to get one. You will never forget the experience. This was my third ever and I remember the details of every fight. Sorry I didn't practice C&R on this one but all that sashimi was too good to pass up.

Tight lines
James

Elk, believe it or not I got that brute on a 12hr trip with Dolphin Docks last Jan. I think we were anchored over Big Southern or Hospital Rocks if I remember correctly, I'm not sure which. I made a lot of people happy that trip, they got about 1.5hr extra fishing time while I fought that thing and really loaded up on AJ's with the extra time.
