Here’s a chart I give to potential customers. This shows the average consumption, but the costs depends on load and your rate for gas.

 

Greek to me. But if the 24kw at half load is 203 (5.75) and 306 (8.66) ? I think we NG at about $16-25 permcf, then the daily run cost ~ $40-$80 per day? Would that be a good approximatiion?

My 22kw ran for 51 hours. Doing the math after I got my bill, cost was .99 per hour.

 

I have a whole house 14KW Generac running on propane. During Beryl it ran continuously for 5 days, burning 35 gallons per day. Cost was right at $100.00 per day.

Having a generac 24 kw installed next week to Natural Gas. Good info for sure.

 

My mom has a 24kw Generac and ran 5 days through The Derecho and 7 days during Beryl. She did the average it took to run all of those days and it was $36 dollars a day. Way cheaper than a hotel or loosing any groceries. That is also using household goods just like nothing every happened.

 

Mine on the coast ran from 8:17 am to 9:23 pm that Monday night and my gas bill at my house was only $21 higher

 

Seems like a lot of difference in cost of running on natural gas.

 

Size matters - 30kw diesel. 190 gallon self contained tank. We don’t tend breakers during outages - runs whole house , and then some

my power went out on the Monday of the storm and came back on Thursday or Friday, so approx. four days for $100.00. I'm running a 24K Generac to power 6k sq. feet, two ACs pool pump etc. not a closet or bedroom door closed all open 724365, builder told me to do so year round for ventilation and mold.

You also need to figure in the fact that you aren't paying for electricity during an outage, not an insignificant number.

 

Hell for $30 a day, it wouldn’t cost but $100 a month to run full time generator than it does on utility power for my house.

 

35kw Diesel. Ran it for 7 days during Beryl, none stop, didn't even touch the auxillary tank.

 

I have a Generac 24kw, Natural gas fed Generator, for May when we had the outage (5 days) we saw a 77.57 increase.
Gas cost adjustment 109 CCF x $ 0.71160 77.57 Billing period 5/14-6/14
We see a "Gas Adjustment" Charge only on the months we run the generator.

Hurricane charge was an additional 101.05 Our power was out Monday 8am till Saturday afternoon.

House stayed 75 degrees, and I worked in my shop also which I run an AC in.

 

looks like about $25.00 per day for a Generac.

 

We lost power for 10 days after the last storm and my NG bill was only $335. I was shocked and was expecting it to be higher. I have a 24 kw and we were running 2 AC‘s, a mini split, and 2 refrigerators.
