Interesting to say the least. I'll be on vacation in September in South Nags Head, NC just up the beach from where that shark was spotted. I think they saw it 13 miles offshore heading west towards the beaches. I guess he is on the prowl for some tasty swimmers. I'll have the 113hlw out while I'm playing on the beach. Maybe I'll get lucky and get spooled by him or one of his cousins!
Last sighting I heard about was 3 mi offshore of Rodanthe village. It's been on the news all over the area, and Capt. Cage was interviewed by a few of them. Some biologist-types said it's a pregnant female that came inshore to pup out.
