I have a 21' NauticStar on a single axle aluminum trailer. I would like to add another axle under it, has anyone ever done this?
What would be a ball park estimate for something like this and is there any suggestions on a shop?
I am willing to travel a 60 mile radius from Houston for quality work.

I've done it on a steel trailer but not an aluminum boat trailer. In my case I bought another axle matching the one I had, a tandem axle hanger kit, new leaf springs for both axles, new fenders and 2 matching rims and tires. It's been several years ago but I spent about $700 on all the parts and did the installation myself. Materials will cost more now no doubt.

You'll need the hub face to hub face dimension on your existing axle. Etrailers.com is really good about helping figure out what you need.

Sgerm is the equivalent of a design engineer, turn him lose with it. he's created and designed more stuff then you can imagine. has many oil field design patents being used daily as we speak.
