I have a 2005 15ft shallowsport with a 90 yamaha 2 stroke and yesterday i noticed the jack plate was all the way down. I raised it all the way up and shut off the power, after about 40 min i came back outside and it was at the bottom again. It is greased and there are no noises or issues when i raise it or lower it. Any suggestions on what is causing it to slowly drop down on its own?

Can seals be replaced or will it require a new jack plate?

Sounds like it needs a new actuator assembly . I think they are $465. A new jackplate is $1295.
