I have my low coolant light come on and off in my 02 Tahoe, 5.3L. I've checked the fluid and it's full and my research says it's a bad sensor. Got the sensor and was going to install it tomorrow before football gets going.

Anyone repalced one of these before and have any advice on what I should know before I dive in? I was going to pump all the coolant out and put new coolant in after install.

Thanks,

TK

siphon coolant out, into a gallon jug. it's easier than getting under the truck on your back to drain rad.. disconnect battery first and wait 10 min. before unplugging most sensors is a safe rule of thumb.

With it being an '02 model, you may consider replacing the hoses and t-stat as well since the coolant will be out of it. Also, be sure to use the correct coolant and distilled water, not tap water.
