Just a quick note to let you guys know I'm still around. Been real busy chasing fish over in Trinity and East Bay....boy, those fish are fast because the catching has been slow (but fun). We are gearing up for Ike and may have to move everything to higher ground tomorrow. Looks like everyone has been keeping busy...great looking projects going on. Keep up the good work and keep those tools sharp. jim/galvbay

I figured you were on them. I sure wish this storm would make up it's mind to go some where isolated. Looks like it can't figure out what city to hit. Stay safe.

My uncle used to have a cabin at Smith Point. We used to come down from Dallas and fish off the pier all the time. I can remember one time we were sitting on the deck and watching a waterspout coming across east bay. It lifted back into the cloud just before hitting shore. Just a few seconds or maybe a minute we had all kinds of fish all over the front yard and on us. It took us all day to clean all those fish out of the yards and street. We put all we could back in the water. Lot of them died but a lot also lived.

Caught a lot of fish off that pier.

You been gone ????:) Seriously..glad to have ya back. We need our GURU !!

Glad you got a little time on the water.. Looks like Smith Pt (and us) may have dodged a bullet again..Port O'Connor looks like the likely victim this time. NOAA is saying 35K winds for Galveston and 32K for Houston.. Hell..I been out on the old "T" fishing in winds worse than that (but then ya gotta remember you're dealing with a nutty old man)...

Does look like a good weekend for ya to get in the garage and do a little work on the mesquite chunk Viking was jawing about...

Welcome home....Krogers is having a fish sale...(lol...'ducking'..):rotfl:
