Just upgraded the chartplotter on our Explorer 230TV to a Garmin EchoMap Plus 93SV. I fish freshwater and from Matagorda to Port Isabel out of the boat.

Which map card does 2cool find best for fishing Texas bays in the above areas?

Looking at Garmin and Navionics info, I'm not clear how much detail is included for the bays. It looks like the charts are mainly geared toward offshore fishing and not so much inland.

Thanks for your help!

by freshwater do you mean 'saltwater' or 'brackish in the marsh' or did you mean Lake Fayette?

Navionics Platinum isn't a bad chip for the bays, it's mostly good general information. If you Fish flats or Marsh entirely and not the open bays there are some chips out there that have some really good aerials but less accurate topo, you might look at Standard Mapping https://www.standardmap.com/product-page/texas-west-classic

or Legends Cartography http://www.legendcartography.com/texas-coast.html

Yeah, I guess that wasn't as clear as I intended. Freshwater means freshwater lakes, which is why I went with the 93 over the 94. Especially since my 225 Opti gave up the ghost on my Ranger. In saltwater, we mostly fish open bays and flats, wade fishing or drifting. While the Explorer gets me where I want to go, it's certainly not an ultra skinny water type hull.

For the Lakes the Navionics will be fine. LakeMaster on Hummingbird is better but it only comes on the 'Bird now. Navionics is pretty close. They also have a packlaged deal for the Navionics "+" and the Lakes Hotmaps https://www.navionics.com/usa/charts?charts=NavionicsPlus

Im not sure how different their HotMaps are..Looks like the same type map
