Looking at a few champion bay boats. 2006-2008, 220 bay champ. Anyone have any insight? The good, bad, ugly?

They were good boats, were pretty efficient and rode well for what they are. They weren’t hard core fishing boats but not a cruiser either.
The bad, they’re a liner boat so the maintenance is more involved, more pieces to wear out and can be a pain to clean old gel coat. Probably needs a good compound job inside and out.
The ugly is that they don’t have any support since Johnny Morris bought them and put the company on moth balls.

I've had the 21 and 22 Bay Champ. Both good boats but the 22 was better in rough chop. Both definitely need trim tabs because for whatever reason they are easily affected by load in boat and will lean badly. Much worse than my 23 Haynie, 22 Kenner and 22 Triton. Like so bad it will actually pull to the side its leaning. But other than that the 22 was a great boat.
