Cat hulls run almost as skinny as an RFL but don't beat you to death. They ride so much better than the flat bottoms. Most will run in 6 inches or little less and get up in less than a foot in mud. I would look at a 23 Shoalwater or the new 23 Haynie cat. Both are smooth riding boats and skinny running. Salt and Sol can't shut up about his 23 shoalwater cat LOL. they are good boats, Haynies are great too and both were designed by Mr. Haynie.

pot meet kettle...he's got a great boat just like you feel like you do...or should I say your dad does. SCB's are fast and fairly skinny but smooth riding ain't their strong point...unless you are talking about calm waters. Rough to me means white caps on every wave which my guess is probably one of the reasons Eric is developing the 24 vee hull - to handle the rough stuff.
I know Salt and Sol's boat is great. I think 23 Shoalwater Cats are great boats. It was a joke. And me and my dad are both owners of that boat to clear that up. I don't think anyone ever said that their cat boat runs like a 24 foot V hull in the really rough stuff but that SCB is the best riding cat boat out there but since there is no perfect boat, it won't be as skinny as a RFL or smaller cat. HTM was running a 20 foot Lake and Bay and that boat can't be that great in the rough stuff either.
