http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/dealersuit/dealerform.php

The attorney general is sueing some selected car dealerships for sliding in a coupon book purchase when buying a new or used car.
Well this happened to us when my wife went a bought a honda from Don McGill Toyota. We never used the coupon and I complained to them about adding that into the total price. (I was not there when my wife bought the car)

Now the dealership is giving us the run around. I sure would like to get the 385$ back.

All I have now is our original invoice from when we bought the car, and we never used the coupon book.

Has this happened to any of you guys and gals out there and what did you do?

Thanks

Conway

I'm with you on this one gowdy. Having been in the business for 13 years I don't know why some dealers (yes I do know why) can't be on the up and up. I can say that I don't lose any sleep over the way our store does business. I guess the big boys of the car world have enough money to justify the heat and law suits. The almighty dollar just ain't that important.

Mark, good luck! I hope you get somewhere with it.

I got two coupon books

I "don't" think I paid extra for them. I think I will look and see, one was for % off on any work or service done at the dealership, the other was for food and junk. I have never used either one.

Bill Heard tried to slip one in on me 2 years ago and when I questioned it they said I had no choice, it was part of the deal. Of course I disagreed strongly and they did take it off after a lot of grumbling on the finance mangers part.
