A survey conducted by TPWD over the last couple of days found 29 of the 92 boat ramps where creel surveys are conducted to be useable. Galveston Island, Bolivar and Surfside were still closed to the general public when these surveys were conducted. No bait camps associated with boat ramps were found to be useable anywhere throughout the Galveston Bay system. Even if open, the lost infrastructure to commercial docks (no power, no fuel, no ice) will limit bait shrimp boat activity for the near future. Hopefully this will be a relatively short-term problem and bait supplies will become more available to anglers.
