We have a bulkhead on a coastal waterfront property and the soil is eroding underneath the bulkhead. I am sure this was caused by all the rainfall. I want to repair it by bringing in some material that will prevent the erosion. What is a good product to use? When the community fixed these in the past I think they just filled the hole with dirt and planted grass over the top of it. Is some sort of rubble good to use? I was thinking about getting some gypsum (gel) and mixing it with fill dirt. My hope is that the gel will expand and prevent the erosion. I will also plant some grass over the top and if it takes root and grows it should eliminate the problem going forward.
Any thoughts or anything that you've seen that should work well?
