Neighbor lady brought me a 6-pak for jumping her truck off,and just set it in my fridge in the barn.Glanced at it a couple days thinking the whole time it was Shiner Bock(my mostess favorite beer),so,when I finally got one I couldn't believe it wasn't Shiner.The bottle and labels are so similar I'd probably grab the broagel by mistake if I was in a hurry.It tasted pretty dang good and is very close to a Shiner,but not quite there.Saw on a website someone said the only place they've ever seen it was at Aldi's.I never go there though.They also said it was cheap.Oh ya,it has a goat on the label like Shiner.

Broegel's a belgian beer. Label is very similar. So much so, I'm surprised Shiner hasn't gone after them.
BTW, Shiner has a ram on the label. Ziegenbock, AB's Shiner clone, has the goat (ziegen is German for goat).

I tried it and nothing close to Shiner IMO. Not very good (but I drank all six...)

Looks drinkable to me. Especially if it was free. I bought a beer one time called Buck Horn beer. Had s nice 10 point buck for a logo

If Buc-ee's thinks they have a case over this, then Shiner should have a slam dunk over broegel.

That bro gel beer would lose in a trade dress lawsuit in my opinion. Colors, font, size, type of product, and label are too similar in my opinion. I prefer Lone Star Light so I don't have a dog (or goat) in this fight.

Aldi sells private label products that other manufacturers produce or "knock off" at discounted prices,,, pretty surprised at how close that label is and the fact that Shiner hasn't sued their arss off yet.

I finished the copy cat Shiner I originally posted about yesterday,only drinking 5.When I pulled the carton they're packed in out of the fridge,one fell out and busted all to heck.What a cheap arse package.I ran to Albertsons and bought 2 24's of real Shiner Bock and am ready for another hot day.I still love free and open beer,but that 1st full blood Shiner Bock was so good,I got goose bumps.

There's definitely more than one beer to try in Belgium. They have some of the best breweries, not for nothing they are on the UNESCO intangible heritage list! I haven't tasted a brogel, but I have tasted an Abbey-style brown ale. It's a full-bodied malt beer with notes of caramel transitioning to grains and dried fruit. The beer is abundantly hopped and has a long dry and bitter finish.
