I hope everyone has a safe 60 hours coming up. We are going to hunker down in Deer Park and ride this bad boy out. I guess one good thing will be some real nice bowl blanks that will available in the next few days. Keep those chainsaws blades sharp and stay safe...gb

anyone want some nice looking cedar? I got some cut up, just going to store them until things calm down some. I have some that are bigger than what I can turn, I would love to see something big made from them.

sycamore - is it useful for turning? - have about a 3 ft diameter @ smith point, lying over the propane tank. might be more "fun" than i really want to mess with.

I have a few drying in the garage now. I can't turn em, but I know a few folks who can.

I drive right by a stack of nicely cut Chinease Tallow logs every day. Are these any good for turing ?
So far I have a lot of Ash, some birch and some Pecan.

sycamore will spalt nicely.....I'd pass on the chinese tallow though.

I know people who have turned Chinese Tallow but I personally would leave it alone.

I have 3 cocobolo trees i grew from seeds i brought back from the mountains in mexico i planting them 5-6 years ago and there about 50-60 feet tall and 12-14ins around and one blew over i got the water hose and soaked the ground around it and pulled it back up and staked it i hope it lives or i'll have some blanks !!!!!
