Booking an Axis hunt

1280 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Earl
Hey guys...last year I took my first exotic (a red stag) this year my brother and I are going for an Axis. We are going to hunt this place in the hill country. Seeing as I'm not an axis hunter - I am not an expert judge of them but these look to be decent quality. I'll post up a full report after we've hunted next month but the price is half or less of what I've been quoted at most places.

The place is outside of Kerrville I'll post up all the particulars on it once we've hunted and I know I feel comfortable recommending it. I do know they are on about 450 acres and the price is extremely reasonable (a fair bit less than $1k).

This fellows price is $750 as well GWF, I think it is the same type of deal as well. I know it's a private land owner and I believe they are free ranging axis that wandered onto his place. I moved the hunt up to this weekend since it's getting to the time that some of the bucks are shedding, so I should have a report up in a few days. Last year my brother flubbed the pics of my red stag so this time I think we'll take a few pics with a couple of different cameras :)
