Have a bloodhound and a heeler... Both are GREAT dogs.
Heelers are herders and are pretty high strung but are some of the best companions. Ours (and many others I have seen) is wonderful with kids and other people. Get you a frisbee and learn him early.
As far as housebreaking...They are VERY smart dogs...You shouldnt have much trouble at all.
