i have a fillet of blackfin a friend gave me its like 4 inches thick and 6 inches long! how would yall cook it?? thanks!!

Half it(2 in. thick)and blacken it in a hot skillet.

First trim all RED meat off then slice into steaks about a inch thick. Salt and pepper.
Try a 50/50 of G's pub sauce and dijon mustard coat both sides and toss it on a hot grill. After you turn it, about three minutes depending on heat, baste a thin coating on the cooked side.
Do not over cook as it gets tough.
