went looking for blackfin sunday. little rough going out but got better further. went about 80 miles and after searching found a trawling shrimper. caught blackfin on lures then chummed to keep them around. very few shrimpers toward claypile. last week there were lots at 10, 30, 50 miles and 4 or 5 in blue water. yesterday only 1 at 30, 1 at 50 and 1 at 80. lots of bonita and shark with the blackfin. some rain offshore. blue water is about 75 miles. pic of the tuna attached.

We went 60 miles out of Matagorda yesterday, 230 ft of water, 12 shrimp boats and could get nothing but bonita. The sharks and kingfish were not even around. Congrats on finding them; they are beautiful!

trolled small lures and mauraders and marlin lures. only hit small feather jig type stuf and a diamond jig trolled.

It hard to beat an old cedar plug for Blackfin. Add some feathers if you like but it's really not required.
