The options I see are the Rockport Beach piers x2, the city Fulton Harbor pier, Goose Island state park piers, and the state Copano Bridge pier. I am going to be doing night fishing this weekend, which is my best bet for trout and reds? Any advice appreciated. The only one I have been to is Copano bridge and caught alot of small specs last year.

It has been an age since I fished on the Copano Bridge or Goose Island, so I can't answer there. The pier in Fulton has green lights, and usually dink trout hanging around. The wooden, unlit pier on the north end of Rockport Beach we've managed a nice slot red a couple of times. Flounder can be had there, too. On the south end of the beach (no beach pass required) there is a concrete and rock groin/jetty/pier that I've managed trout and Sheepshead from. I've never had success trying for flounder on the beach side, but I know they are there. Years back, we would walk to the end of the Rockport Harbor wall, and catch our fill of trout. I don't think you can walk the wall any more, but there is a newer concrete and rock groin at Market and Water street. Would love to hear what others have as experiences and how yours turns out.

Where are you staying--Laguna reef has a good pier I have caught fish year around there--it has a nice pool and hot tub too--play ground for the kids--real family people..

I would not stay in hotel there that does not have a pier.

the Copano pier has produced a ton of fish-I fish there since 1974--if you catch a good one keep it to your self--when those potlickers see a good one they will cover you up..
