Steve has been diagnosed with cancer and his friend Capt Bubba Ray is putting together a benefit to help defer some of the cost of treatments.
Myself I do not know Steve that well or have never fished with him before but we have worked together during several boat shows and I as well as Lance have always regarded him as our friend.

The date is October 16th between 4:00 & 9:00 pm at Boat Superstore on Nasa Rd1.

There will be a silent auction as well as a raffle and dinner plates.

Some of the items are:

a leaning post donated by Boat Superstore.
Custom made Rods donated by Islander Custon Tackle.
Varoius items donated by Marburgers Sporting Goods.
Various items donated by Cut Rate Fishing Tackle Unlimited.
Event engraved Duck Calls donated by True Tone Duck Calls.
Tackle Packs donated by Mike Spivey.
Tackle Packs donated by Exude Lures.
Rods & various tackle donated by Team Ranger Bob & American Rodsmith.

There will also be guided trips by various local guides.

This is our opportunity to show gratitude to Capt Steve for all the times that he has donated trips, equipment and just plain been there for others.
So please call Bubba and help however you can, even though we all have busy lives to lead and we all pursue our sport in different ways we are still a family of fishermen & women caring about our sport and those envolved with it. Responding to difficuly in times like this make us stronger as whole.

For more information call Bubba Ray at (409)682-0431 & (409)935-5588.

Praying for the best, Capt. Coffee.

The SCA Texas Banquet will be acrosss the road that night. I was hoping we'd be seeing both of them there. But I'll definitely stop by early. Thanks for the heads up. I am glad someone is doing something for him. He deserves it!

What is it about October 16 that everyone has scheduled their event on that date? Nothing else to do the rest of the month. I've had to turn down about 10 different invitations. I'll be sure to stop by and support Capt. Steve. A great fisherman and one fine fellow.

Steves Benefit

We fished a number of times with the illustrious 'live bait specialist'. Steve is a great guy to be around and he put out a lot for SCA. I hope his treatment goes well and look forward to fishing with him again. (My distance casting has improved since the last time he whacked my 70 yard weenie!!))

I will definitely attend the benefit.

Seeing as I will be in Seabrook I might as well attend the SCA banquet. Will one of y'all ticket sellers drop me a PM.............
