Patterson Drilling, Abilene , TX yard--- While doing some cleanup around the yard.
The forklift driver picked up a "pit" (10 ft by 10 ft by 30 ft), set it back down and called the office.
"I need some people out here with shotguns". Three men showed up.
As many got away as were killed----62. Don't know if it was posted here before.

I've seen that before. They probably didn't have many options, but it's pretty sad if you ask me.

We ran into a nest of cottonmoths like that when we were renovating a house on the bayou, we had no choice other than to do what the picture looks like. They didn't want to leave and we needed to get under the house.

Creepy. Yep it was posted but still a good reminder to send shivers up your sphine. Can you imagine the guys who go into that yard to do any work. I bet after the sun goes down no one even considers going in.

A couple of years back at the ranch in Old Mex we were making the roads wider and opend up a hole with 100+ rattlers in it and killed about half of them. From experience, Get the shotguns ready for the rats and rodents next year!

When you unbalance an ecosystem like that, you are bound to create other problems!
