Went to see it last night. Now I don't normally plug movies, but that was one of the best I've ever seen. It had probably the best special effects ever without going over the top. Great story line ( I won't give anything away) and I highly recommend you go see it. Especially up on the big screen.

It is 3-D, but they give you the good plastic glasses and mine didn't bother me. And it is long, around 3 hours, but like I said, one of the best I've ever seen. Great for all ages too, some cursing, but nothing horrible.

My review gives it an A++.

The whole audience stood up and applauded at the end. I can't ever remember going to a movie and have that happen. To me, it was that good. It even had tear jerker moments. Awesome movie!

Was it a 1 soda, 1 bucket of popcorn movie or did you need to refill the soda and popcorn? I'm thinking 3 hours is at least 2 sodas, 2 buckets of popcorn and 1 pee break...

Just go real good before you sit down. I lasted the whole movie, but my wife had to go once. Spring for the large popcorn and coke. Man I love movie popcorn!

I can't wait to see it. I've enjoyed every James Cameron film that I've seen. And this one is his special baby that he's been trying to get made for decades, but the technology didn't exist until now. It's good to hear you folks liked it, makes it that much easier to spring for the tickets and consessions for the four of us.

for $300 million, it better be good. it's hard for me to believe that anyone would spend that kind of money just to make a dang movie.
You got me to thinking.

I can't speak for Avatar, but look at something like Titanic, another James Cameron film. Two hundred million to make - a record at the time.

production cost per second = $17,094
revenue per second = $158,018

I may go see this one but his last movie "Titanic" blew. I know, biggest movie ever. Still sucked! Special effects were good but it went on forever and the story was ridiculous. Woman meets pauper, knows him for a few hours, gives it up, pauper drowns and she loves him forever. Give me a break. I would think only a woman or a man without a card would like this drivel.

No one wants to hear it dude.
James Cameron in my opinion is the best "popcorn movie" maker of all time, and a great story teller. Aliens(2nd one with Bill Paxton), The Abyss, Terminator, True Lies, Piranha 2(kidding), etc. I wasn't a huge fan of Titanic, it was ok.
Imagine if he had done the Transformers movies, you wouldn't have any of the cheesy BS just a killer movie.
Can't wait to see Avatar.

I'm not one of them animation guys as far as movies go. I wasn't a big fan of Transformers and such but this movie was absolutely superb. I didn't realize that James Cameron had to invent the animation type.
