Has anyone seen an image of the row of new houses there? Northeast of Rollover and right on the highway. They were built very strong attached to stressed concrete pilings....impact windows...plus they were very, very tall...the first high levels were only decks and the houses actually on the top levels. I don't know anyone there, but it would be interesting to know if their efforts to build new beach homes as strong as possible were rewarded.

Hard to say

Bobby:
I am comparing what I know and can see from Google Earth as to the site and I think this is not the exact spot. I think on the before picture the dozen or so homes (on the non beach side of HWY 87) may be a little further toward P. Bolivar. I have attached the site plan which compares to the first picture you posted. I can't believe one wouldnt be able to see something left of the tall concrete pilings and concrete driveways for a dozen houses. Not trying to argue (and I know you hope its the wrong picture too)

Johnboat it looks like they didn't make it. First picture is before they had any built just the warehouse and second picture is what it looks like now.

Good to hear

A friend of mine visited there today and said they were still there. The lower decks and staircases were gone but the houses were supposedly in good shape.
No problem with looters on those unless they have serious extension ladders. Those were built off site and then put up by cranes by the same plant in Gilchrist that built the homes at Laguna Harbor where mine is. Audubon Village and Laguna Harbor are projects of the same developer although completely different concepts. So far though, the "fortified construction" claim seems to be holding up.

Thanks for the report.
