I saw this link on another forum and thought you might be interested. It shows some pretty stark photos of Ike's damage to some of the local area sanctuaries including High Island, Bolivar Flats, and the Edith Moore bird sanctuary. All places that some of our members loved to visit.

Looks like Smith Oaks took a good beating. I'm sure the birds will return in the spring.
It just takes time for it to grow back. Really sad though.

I had so much fun there earlyer this year. Im sure the birds will be back. I just hope the salt water doesn't damage the wildlife system in the pond. Looks like the Boy Scout woods took a beating also.
