I will be fishing Aransas Pass area, June 23rd thru 25th.

This is my first trip down there since last Fall. Since I live in the Austin area, I hope the 450 mile round trip will be fun! Pulling my boat down there with these gas prices can be tough at time on the wallet ($2.79/gallon in Austin). Just hoping some trout/redfish/flounder fillets....

How have the tides been lately?
Has anyone been fishing Aransas Bay lately?

I will post my results on Sunday night.

Tides have been fine - the water has been beautiful alot of the time. Go for trout outside of Traylor on croaker - that's still working. And...the best part...gas was $2.46 in Rockport last weekend!

I second Traylor island...

I'm not knocking croakers but if you wan't to throw arty's then go by Walmart and pick up the 3" Wild Eye swim bait in Pearl color from Storm Lures. It looks just like a croaker and we caught the **** out of fish a couple weeks ago. Even after getting the tail bit off we continued to use them until they were nothing more than mangled plastic.

The back side of Mud Island was real slow but needs to be hit every once in a while to see if will turn on.
