anyone used this cooker from academy?

From the pictures, it looks like the base isn't made that well. That could just be the pictures, though. If it is made well and looks like it will hold up, I see no reason why it won't be a good purchase. I'd love to have one, but I don't cook enough crawfish or shrimp or anything to justify it.

The paddle is stainless steel. The cooker is made from aluminum.

I'm guessing its the same material that they make all of their gas grills out of. If so, it should last you many many years. I had an outdoor gourmet grill from Academy and got roughly 10 years out of it before the grates finally rusted out. The exterior/frame of the grill was still in good shape.

I have the King Kooker crawfish boiler.It's more btu's and works great.I had to cut the lid handles off and move them forward,they had the bucket handles below it so the lid would not close unless you pulled the handles out.
