I've always toyed with the idea of making my own rods, but I'm not sure what all is involved with the construction...components, techniques, time involved, etc. Does anyone know of any video clips on the net that might show me a quick step-by-step demonstration? Thanks in advance!

I do have 2 video files that show a boat rod being built from the ground up but they are VERY large files and can only be transfered via Instant Messanger over a fast connection or burned to CD and sent snail mail.

There are also some vidio's I have seen on Y-tube but can not tell you how to access them. Porably plugging in a couple of key words on the search window will get you there

HCB, there are builders all over that would be happy to let you look over their shoulder and give you a quick overview of what it takes. It isn't rocket science(getting closer all the time) but a little mentoring will put you MILES ahead. Post up where you are and maybe you could hookup with a local builder. Then you would have a better idea of what it takes. tools,equipment, techniques etc........Chances are, if you've ever thought about rolling your own then you would probably like it.....Jim
