Gang ...

Decided to escape the reality of what has happened in Houston ( although we had minimal damage) and head to Rockport for a few days of fishing. Well, I have never seen this much water in these bays! With that in mind ... any suggestions as to where I should start looking to pursue my newfound love affair with topwater fishing for redfish and/or trout?

I appreciate any help you might offer ...

I have not been down there in a while but if the bays are real fresh like you say then fish deep shell. Other than that i do not really know what to tell you. The redfish may still be up shallow but the trout need more salinity so they should be deeper.

Dove into a swimming pool Saturday afternoon and froze. Water temp must have fallen 10 degrees with all the rain we had in Houston. Wonder how much the bays in Rockport cool.

The water temp has dropped about 5 degrees but all the water is from IKE. Rockport recorded zero rain from Gustav and Ike combined. My neighbor emailed earlier that he had only received 2/10th yesterday and that was from the front that pushed through. Good luck. I will be there on Saturday. Weather looks good so far.

Water levels were really high well before the storm, in St. Charles.
