I was wondering if anyone on this board with experience and/or knowledge in such things can give a guess as to when the entire highway from High Island to Port Bolivar will be driveable.

I can't answer that. But, I would think TXDOT needs to make this a number one priority as the highway is key to start rebuilding the rest of the island.

The bridge at Roll Over Pass is the key. If you see it repaired then the rest would go quickly.

Went to High Island today. The check point was at 124 and 1985 but after that ( early this morning) there was access to Gilchrest. The problem is the road is covered with a lot of mud and those who tried it were getting stuck so you cant get very far that way. The power lines are pretty much gone from Winnie to High Island. They say High Island will have water in two or three days but power will be a month or so.
