Badhabit beat to the punch. All is looking great so far, will have to wait for the video reviews of the launch to see if any foam came off and then the damage inspection if it did. I think we have a handle on things better now, so with the prayer of the nation all will be safe.
America IS blessed and so are our Soldiers !!!! God is Ever present and in total control over EVERYTHING going on in this world.
That was a heartful blast-off. 0 to over 17 THOUSAND MPH in under 9 minutes !!! WOW !!! It "awes" me each lift-off. One night I was taking my daughter to the Houston airport. Between Crabb River Road and Hwy 6 on 59....To the North a bright object streaking across the sky VERY fast caught our eyes. We didn't know what it was and I said maybe it is the Shuttle in re-entry. Well...after I returned home...I saw on the news that was exactly what it was !!! It started to light up over the prison farm and in a VERY short time....went out of sight over the horizon over Missouri City !!!! That was a "heartful" feeling also...knowing there were 7 people inside "driving" that ship !! WOW again !!!!!!!
I have a small amount of my project's hardware on that bird, so I was very happy to see it get off the ground safely today. It's a big step in the right direction for finishing up the ISS and moving on to Moon and Mars in the next few years. I had a tear in my eye when the Shuttle cleared the tower. It's been a long time since I've felt that feeling. It snuck up on me. I didn't know what I was going to feel, but it was a huge sense of pride, relief, patriotism, happieness and solemn rememberence all wrapped up in one. It was all I could do to hold it back.
