I have always seen the ALS charity as pretty legit, but I feel there are just too many charities in general and it leads to a duplication of overhead to a massive and wasteful degree

all the different cancer charities even for the same type of cancer and then all the other ones for different "causes"

I am to the point now where I think it might be time to end tax deductions for charities and yes even for religions

when you have "religions" like scientology and others qualifying that shows you it is out of control

I don't want people that give to peta or others to avoid their taxes because of that (especially when they are almost always the "more taxes = better" types) just like they do not want anyone's religious contributions to lessen their tax burden.....I say it is time to make the money actually matter when someone "gives" it and see who ends up standing and who goes away
